Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without stretching it?

Keep the aspect-lock ticked: enter one dimension and the other adjusts automatically, so nothing distorts.

What sizes do passport and ID photos need?

UK digital passport photos must be at least 600×750 pixels. Crop and resize to that ratio, with your face taking up the specified proportion of the frame.

Does resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Enlarging can't add detail — a small image scaled up will look soft, so avoid upscaling where possible.

Are my photos uploaded?

No — resizing uses your browser's canvas locally. Images never leave your device.
